Sprint #1

In the initial sprint of the Global Sites project, the team started brainstorming ideas to define the different aspects of the system. Meetings with product owner (PO) helped the team to set the goals in the form of user stories. The following user stories where defined:

-
As a student, I want to explore the jobsite so that I can observe various locations (Size: S)

-
As a student, I want to interact with hotspots so that I can obtain information from the augmentations (Size: M)

Moreover, the team started to plan for the future sprints, evaluating interaction strategies and prototyping

After discussing with the PO, the team decided that the Global Sites experience would simulate a classroom setting where the students would be transported into impossible settings, guided by a teacher. Figure 1 illustrates the concept by displaying a group of students immersed in the system (left side - blue), and a teacher that guides them throughout the experience (right side - red).

With this in mind, the team gathered to draft a set of graphical interfaces that would facilitate the experience. In this initial meeting, the team defined four functional elements that would drive the development of the system: the SliderVierwer, ControlView, DrawLayer, and NotificationAlert. All of these (Figure 2) aim to simulate a classroom space in the virtual space of Global Sites.
Finally, the team explored the existing prototype previously created to familiarize themselves with 360-degree panoramas, the sprites, and the scene change interfaces. This original prototype was part of one of the team members first assignment, providing test-bed for the team to create the experience.
